1. Mascara wands make the best eyebrow brushes. When its time to toss your favorite tube of mascara, save the wand. Wash it clean with soap and water and, voila, free brow spoolie! (Tip: ideally, you should replace your mascara every 3 months to protect your eyes from bacteria; see: When In Doubt, Toss It Out.)

2. Turn any eyeshadow into a long-lasting eyeliner with a drop of saline solution. I learned this trick years ago from Carmindy on What Not to Wear. Wet an eyeliner brush with a drop or two of saline solution (the same stuff you use to clean your contact lenses) then dip the brush into a powder eyeshadow and apply it like liquid liner. When it dries, it’s sweat and smudge proof and lasts all day. I love using this trick with purple, green and teal shadows for a…

I have been spending the last hour, browsing through an endless list of books…

Why am I so interested?? They were $1.00 each, yes you read it right. One Dollar! Shipping is only $6.50 per order, and ships within 1-2 days.

Oh, you guys probably don’t understand how excited I am. I am currently a Childhood Educator and am ever looking for resources to build up my collection for the never ending children that walk through our doors; creating such a wonderful environment and second home.

I just purchased 30 books and just can not wait to receive them!

MotorEx Outfit Dilemma

I don’t mean to spam you guys with post, but l just had to. *cheeky smile*

After my other half had finished his Thursday night shift (18/7/2013) and had come home at 2 in the morning on the Friday

Do you want to go to MotorEx on Saturday?

Of course we’re going, babe. No question there, but thank Buddha for the warning, because my new outfit, from Sunday, was NOT complete! I needed a something warm to go with it.

All day at work I was thinking, hmmm I need a leather jacket, but where am I going to get one tonight – I finish work at 6. No shopping centre is open at this time. To be honest I did end up forgetting about it. After work I drove straight to my mum’s to visit and have dinner.

My sister ended up asking me to take her to Woolies so she can buy some self raising flour to make pancakes. Yum!

So after walking out of there we ended up with:

  • self raising flour
  • 2 boxes of Nescafe Caramel Latte (they were on sale for $8 a box), one for her and one for me
  • pack of 6 crumpets (for brekky before we left for MotorEx)
  • A copy of Cosmopolitan =D

That was one expensive Self Raising Flour… *shakes head*

We’ve gotten back to the car, and we ended up going to K-Mart.

This is what I ended up buying

I bought it for $20. I had to contemplate it, we walked around the store but we could not find anything that would go with my outfit…So I ended up getting this. Still, it’s pretty cheap for a knitted cardigan. And look at the size of the Cardigan!! =D

As well as Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion, Redwin Vitamin-E Hand Cream and Sunsilk Shampoo. My gosh, I don’t know how to stick to a mental shopping list do I?!

And, YAY, I completed my new outfit.

We shopped at Woolworths, Bass Hill and K-Mart in Bankstown Centro.

This is a picture of my complete outfit.

Don’t mind the dustiness of the mirror or the messiness of my make-up table – In the middle of a room make-over I am.

And for those who went to MotorEx, how awesome was it?! There were amazing cars, but I can not believe that stock cars made it into the show..If I wanted to see stock cars, I’ll just go to Liverpool Krispy Kremes thank you very much!!

P.S I want some junk food, and am currently trying to convince my other half to take me to our local Coles (Casula) to buy some. More spending, here we come!! Oh, and there is the 24hr K-Mart there as well!! ^_^ Hehehe

Stay tuned for awesome buys and more stories!

Hey guys, welcome to my first post, I’m so excited!! =D

I went shopping with my sister last Sunday (14/07/2013), and did we shop; we ended up spending under $200 on clothes and food…. My gosh food is so expensive, but one needs to eat before one shops!

I’ve noticed recently that the clothes in my cupboard have been there since before I dated my boyfriend; over 4 years ago (holy crap), so I have been wanting a wardrobe update as well as more colour in there (everything is either black or grey, rarely any colours).

I headed out with a shopping list (in my head):

  • dresses; and
  • a necklace for my heart pendant (which my other half gave me with a necklace but it rusted…)

This is what I ended up wit:

  • Two maxi skirtsImage

These were $10 each from Blue Jade

  • see through sleeveless singletImageThe singlet was also $10 from Blue Jade
  • A sleeveless skater style dress

This dress was again, only $10 from Chica Booti

I just have to say, I’m usually a 14-16, but also find it hard to find tops/dresses that fit because of my boobs – they’re big for an Asian. When I find a top or dress, it will fit perfectly around my tummy, but the boob area will be too small. Anyways, I ended up trying on a size 12, a size 12 ladies!! 12, and it was a perfect fit EVERYWHERE!!

P.S girls, I don’t have a flat tummy!!

My next purchase was the necklace, which I don’t have a photo of, because I am just that little bit lazy to take a photo of it now. Hahaha

The necklace is, shit don’t even know what material she said it was, I was in such a rush – but it’s silver. I bought it for $40 (I instantly regretted buying it for this much after I purchased it – I think I just hate the fact that I really didn’t shop around for a necklace – but hey, I still love the one I got)

Well that’s all I bought for myself, I ended up getting my sister some shoes and clothes (I can’t remember what I bought her last weekend).

All the stores we shopped at were located in Bankstown Centro. You can find all the store information here.

I had a great day with my sister; shopping with her has enabled us to come closer (now that she is older). And I’m seeing sides of her I never thought I would see.
